Ms. Karen BergmanAssistant Director, Interpretation and Access The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, USAKaren Bergman serves as Assistant Director of Interpretation and Access at New York’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, where she develops digital and in-person educational programs and experiences for diverse audiences. One signature project, the “Mind’s Eye Sensory Guide,” combines audio descriptions with ambient sound recordings to create digital experiences that capture both the Guggenheim’s iconic architecture and the sensory journey of moving through the space. Originally designed for blind listeners, the program has gained widespread popularity with general audiences as well. Her work in accessibility through description of art and National Public Radio. In 2023, she was recognized with the Audio Description Achievement Award and an Anthem Award for the Mind’s Eye program’s innovative approaches to museum accessibility. Keynote Speech The Solomon R.
